What Wix does well

  • Payments, a store and scheduling are available. Wix lists "Accept payments", eCommerce and "Scheduling and services" starting on the Core plan ($29 a month, billed yearly).
  • It lists more than 2,000 templates and a blog tool.
  • Wix lists 24/7 customer care and a free domain for the first year on paid plans.

Where Wix is harder for a local business

  • On the free plan you cannot use your own domain or remove Wix branding. Wix says both need a Premium plan.
  • The Light plan does not list payments or scheduling. Those start on Core.
  • Wix shows its plan prices for yearly subscriptions paid in full up front, and before taxes.
  • It is a builder for every kind of site, so you decide the pages and layout yourself.

Where bizhq is the weaker choice

  • Your address is yourname.bizhq.page. You can't use your own .com on the free plan.
  • A site has 3 to 5 fixed pages. There is no blog.
  • No online store or payments, and no booking calendar on the site itself. The Book button opens the booking app you already use.
  • Visitor stats are simple counts of visits and button taps, not a full analytics tool.
  • One site per account.

Which should you pick?

Pick Wix if you want to take payments, sell online, book appointments or run a blog, or you want your own .com from day one, and paying from about $17 a month (billed yearly) is fine.

Pick bizhq if you want a simple site for a local business at no cost, started for you, with a contact form and simple visitor counts, that you can edit from your phone, and an address like yourname.bizhq.page is fine.
